Ironclad
Last night you came to me again.
Smile on your lips beaming with love,
“Hello” you said “Hello “I replied.
And if years have not passed by,
All memories become present in my mind.
The loving relationship we had,
The lasting words and thoughts,
Forged ahead through these years
Creating us, what we are and what we’ll be.
The spiritual blacksmith that put us together
Forged us through fire, water,
Extended us wider, narrow, shorter, longer.
Bend us to made us malleable, able to change,
Upset us to when he made us thick and stronger
And punched us to make the decorative parts of our souls.
Changing forever the rigidness of our bodies,
And finally welding us together in an iron embrace
His lasting work every day we’ll admire
The past will be behind us and the future ahead
Looking at the present through time’s gentle pace.
Last night you came to me again.
Smile on your lips beaming with love,
“Hello” you said “Hello “I replied
And if years have not passed by,
All memories become present in my mind.
The lasting words and thoughts we said
Forever in my heart reside.
