Father's day

Words of wisdom, words you passed
Every day of your life, the whole of your stance
Advice to follow you always gave
Gifts we always had here and there
The love you shown is what I recall... See More
The tender stroke upon my head
The smile you gave to encourage me to forget
The failing thoughts went away, disappeared, dispersed
You chased them all for me, and then as I rested
Vigilant of my dreams you became
Your heart had an infinite storage
For memories, mementoes that matter you said
Amongst those happy things were
Mental copies of the cards I painted
Especially the one that said “Happy Father’s day”
And like you, now I keep a mental treasure cove
Full of mementoes a world of its’ own
A place where I cannot never ever be alone
Everything that you taught me I will always know
Every lesson of the heart I will always remember
The lessons I have learnt with you always help
And even now we are apart; the hope is that one day
We can meet again and the tender stroke upon my head
Once more be felt and vigilant you become as I rest
A card with the girl handing you a Rose I will paint
Once more it will say “Happy Father’s day”
No matter where I go or who will I end up be
I will always say to ME, “How lucky I have been to be loved by THEE”
